Living a solitary existence in total seclusion, dwelling in caves, forests, mountains or hidden in the deepest jungle is a form of asceticism that can develop and grow a practitioners various supernatural mind powers. Deepening Samādhi, a state of meditative consciousness, expanding one’s meditative absorption or trance states attained by the practice of dhyāna, helps in the development of an investigative and luminous mind that is both equanimous and mindful. Solitude promotes transformation.
